Zycron gives 25K to Business Plan University; 10 finalists chosen

Nashville-based Zycron Inc. has donated $25,000 to the Nashville Business Incubation Center to help fund the center's Business Plan University competition.
Zycron, a provider of information technology services and solutions, graduated from the incubation center in 1997 and credits its success with support from the center.
The NBIC is about $10,000 away from reaching its fundraising goal of $100,000 for its second Business Plan University in September 2007.
Thirty-four participants were admitted into the program which includes classes held once per week, instruction on meeting market needs, setting financial goals, and building a team.
Ten finalists were announced recently.
Finalists are: Alex Tolbert, owner of Bernard Health,LLC; Ellen Caldwell, owner of Caldwell Collections; Lewis J. BeCoats III, owner of Clipper City Barbers; Clint Boyd, Jr., owner of Higher Ground Training Inc.; Cindy Austin, owner of Keep Life Simple; Tonya Jackson-Strong, owner of Let's Get Together LLC DBA The Original Girlfriends Network; Jeff Stewart, owner of Mountain Jim's Ice Cream; Brad Cowart, owner of Mousewise; Meaghan Mundy-Patterson, owner of Singing Heart Press and John and Joshua Perona, owners of Tri-Star Digital Connections LLC.
The first place winner will receive $10,000 in cash, $7,000 in rent-free space at the NBIC and $8,000 in business services based on their business' needs, such as accounting, legal counsel, space planning and furniture.
The Nashville Business Incubation Center is a program of the Tennessee State University College of Business.
It was established in 1986 with a grant from Tennessee Valley Authority to Tennessee State University.
