Summer's Prettiest Makeup Trends- Think Coordination, Not Matching
Back in the 80's it may have been cool to match your powder blue eyeshadow to your acid-washed jeans-not so cool today. Fashion has taken a more subtle approach-think coordination, not matching. With trends taken from the ladies at Birchbox, I've listed a few of this Summer's hottest trends and the perfect makeup look for each one.
1. Summer Whites
Who doesn't love an all-white outfit in the Summer? Anytime you're rocking the monochromatic look, play up one of your favorite features with a pop of color.
2. Color Blocking
Thanks to Prada's Spring '11 collection, this look is huge. One bold color + another bold color = more bold color! This trend is definitley not for the faint of heart! Can we say fabulously fierce?
3. Bright Yellow
Is your goal to brighten up a room? Nothing works better than marigold yellow. Bronzed cheeks and chocolate smoky eyes is all it takes. Stick to complimentary brown tones and let the outfit speak for itself.
4. Floral Prints
The cute, vintage inspired look of small florals calls for sipping iced tea on a porch to make the look complete. These prints can get a little busy if you don't pull it all together. Pick one shade as a canvas for eyes, cheeks and lips.
5. Leopard Print
This one is here to stay! And it actually can be quite sophisticated when done the right way- black eyeliner, supershocking mascara, nude lips. Play up your eyes and you won't have to say a word.
